2019 Poetry Competition

Call for Submissions for the 2019 Traffick Slam Poetry Competition:

Traffick Slam is where art and abolition come together for an evening of poetry, music, and dance.  A key part of this event is a poetry competition open to all.

Poetry submissions can address any aspect of the abolition movement from any perspective.  We are looking for poetry that reflects the vision of Traffick Slam; an evening where hope, freedom and empowerment are celebrated.

Submissions are due April 15.  Winners in several categories shall receive two tickets to the event on May 21, 2019 where they will be honored with an award and read aloud their prize-winning poems.  There will be one special award for poetry submitted by high school students.

Poetry submissions should be emailed to njcoalitionblog@gmail.com.  Please include your name, contact information, and the high school you attend (if applicable) in email.  Attach poem preferably as a pdf file to retain formatting.
